Saint Matthew the Evangelist also known as Saint Matthew the Apostle, was one of Jesus Christ's twelve apostles and an evangelist who authored the Gospel of Matthew in the New Testament of the Holy Bible.

Several verses have been mentioned Matthew 1,[1] 7:26,[2] 19:19,[3] 21:17,[2] 23,[4] 24:27-42,[5] and others have been referenced Matthew 1:1-3,[1] 6:10-14,[2] 7:26,[2] 7:1-2,[6][7] 16:24,[8] and 25:40.[9]
Matthew is also depicted in Leonardo da Vinci's Last Supper.

In a retelling of the nativity story King Herod the Great arrived with his soldiers to kill the newborn Jesus, one soldier said that nobody would ever speak or write of what they do again.
