Homer's Spirit Guide, also referred to as the Space Coyote, is a talking coyote whom Homer met in a chili-induced hallucination.
History[edit]
When Homer was a teenager, he and Grampa traveled to Utah to search for Mona Simpson. The Space Coyote observed them as they drove through.[1]
In his hallucination, Homer followed the tortoise to a pyramidal structure that grew to an enormous height, which he climbed. At the top of the pyramid, Homer saw a face in the sky form from the moon and a planet before manifesting as the Space Coyote. The Space Coyote introduced himself and instructed Homer to find his soul mate. Shortly after, Homer woke up.
Homer later heard the Space Coyote's voice again, urging him to find his soul mate. When Homer asked for an explanation, the Space Coyote explained that he couldn't provide any new information since he was merely Homer's memory.[2]
The Space Coyote also appeared during Chief Wiggum's chili-induced hallucination. He commented to Wiggle Puppy, Wiggum's Spirit Guide, about how he had once helped "some dumb fat guy." The two briefly conversed, agreeing there should be no more spirit quests until they received a dental plan. He later attended the spirit guide meeting with Wiggle Puppy.[3]
When Marge drank hallucinogenic tea at Blazing Guy, the Space Coyote appeared in one of her bizarre visions.[4]
When Homer and Marge imagined themselves in a crystal world, the Space Coyote was seen eating the Road Runner.[5]
