Walter Mondale is an American politician. He was the Vice President of the United States from 1977 to 1981 (serving under President Jimmy Carter) and was the losing candidate in the 1984 U.S. presidential election.
History
The Springfield Shopper issue from the day Lisa was born had the headline "Mondale to Hart: Where's the beef?".[1]
Walter Mondale was of the speakers available for hire through the Springfield Speakers Bureau.[2]

Behind the Laughter
The significance of the three men appearing in Lisa's "losers" nightmare is that all three are Democrats who lost U.S. presidential elections: Mondale in 1984, Kerry in 2004 and Dukakis in 1988.
