History
Milton Burkhart became a children's author because his cartoons for Playboy were deemed too filthy. Bart and Lisa saw a lecture with him at the Springfield Stamp Museum.
Behind the Laughter
He is a parody of the author Maurice Sendak, who wrote Where the Wild Things Are.
