Saint Matthew the Evangelist also known as Saint Matthew the Apostle, was one of Jesus Christ's twelve apostles and an evangelist who authored the Gospel of Matthew in the New Testament of the Holy Bible.

History

When King Herod the Great arrived with his soldiers to kill Jesus, one soldier said that nobody would ever speak or write of what they do again. Matthew then heard what was happening and wrote it down, thinking it would be a boffo opening for his book.[1]

Several verses have been mentioned Matthew 1,[2] 7:26,[3] 19:19,[4] 21:17,[3] 23,[5] 24:27-42,[6] and others have been referenced Matthew 1:1-3,[2] 6:10-14,[3] 7:26,[3] 7:1-2,[7][8] 16:24,[9] and 25:40.[10]
