Collette was a waitress who worked at Flaming Moe's.
History[edit]
Once Moe became one of the trendiest nightspots, Moe hired Collette to help him out with the new extra customers. Collette soon discovered that Moe stole the recipe from Homer and convinced him to sell the "Flaming Moe" for $1,000,000 and give half of the money to Homer, before Homer ran into the restaurant and revealed that the secret ingredient was cough syrup.
She slept with Moe and afterwards convinced him to share his success with Homer since she overheard how "Flaming Moe" was actually invented by Homer. Moe was about to sell the recipe to Tipsy McStagger's Goodtime Eating and Drinking Emporium when a deranged Homer told everyone the secret ingredient, children's cough syrup. Later, Homer asked about the whereabouts of Moe's waitress, and Moe said she left to pursue a movie career, although he believed she was off staying.[1]

Behind the Laughter[edit]
Collette is a parody of Diane Chambers, the fictional character played by Shelley Long on Cheers, and during production the interactions between her and Moe became more and more like the Sam and Diane relationship. Sam Simon was the showrunner on Cheers before The Simpsons.
Catherine O'Hara originally voiced Collette; however, the writers decided her voice didn't fit the character and she was redubbed with Jo Ann Harris.[2] Simpsons World The Ultimate Episode Guide: Seasons 1-20 still states that O'Hara voiced Collette.
