Steve Urkel is a television character from the sitcom Family Matters.

History

After Homer saw an alien he told Chief Wiggum that the alien had a sweet, heavenly voice like Urkel and he appears every Friday night, also like Urkel.[1]

While participating in The 1895 Challenge, Marge attempted to purchase Urkel-O's cereal from the Kwik-E-Mart. Buying anything that was produced after 1895, however, was against show rules, so Apu had to deny her purchase.[2]

A production of Othello, with Urkel in the title role, was being staged in London when the Simpson family visited the city.[3]

The Simpsons once watched a brief portion of a Christmas special where, in a parody of A Christmas Carol, Urkel played a character called "Ebenezer Urkel".[4]

After being kicked out Springfield University Benjamin, Doug and Gary were forced to find another place to live. They ended up staying at The Android's Dungeon, much to the annoyance of Comic Book Guy. During a convention at the store an attendee mistook Benjamin for Urkel causing a mob to form and chase the three away.[5]

In describing The Homer Show, one of the FOX executives said that it was going to be big, "Urkel big".[6]
