Once Moe becomes one of the trendiest nightspots, Moe hired Collette to help him out with the new extra customers. Collette soon discovers that Moe stole the recipe from Homer, and convinces him to sell the "Flaming Moe" for $1,000,000 and give half of the money to Homer, before Homer runs into the restaurant and reveals that the secret ingredient is cough syrup.

The woman Moe hires as a waitress at Flaming Moe's is never named within the episode.
Collette is a parody of Diane Chambers, the fictional character played by Shelley Long on Cheers," and during production the interactions between her and Moe became more and more like Sam and Diane relationship. Sam Simon has been the showrunner on Cheers before The Simpsons.
Catherine O'Hara originally voiced Collette, however, the writer's decided her voice didn't fit the character and she was redubbed with Jo Ann Harris.[1] Simpsons World The Ultimate Episode Guide: Seasons 1-20 still states that O'Hara voiced Collette.
