Character Information
|
Philip J. Fry, better known as Fry, is a delivery boy for Planet Express.
History[edit]
He was seen on a rock in space with Leela.[1]
When Bender refused to kill Homer in the past, because Bender has bonded with Homer, Leela and Fry appeared in a projection to ask Bender what was taking him so long to kill Homer. Fry, Leela, and Professor Farnsworth then went to the past to finish the job for Bender. When Homer, Lisa, and Professor Frink managed to talk the Planet Express crew out of killing Homer, Homer took Fry, Leela, and Bender home and explained to them why people would pay for freemium games.
After digging up the time capsule, the portal machine in the future got broken by the New New York creatures, which dragged everyone into the future. Fry and Homer were set to work bumbling about trying to fix the portal whilst everyone else came up with another plan. Fry eventually got the portal working because the instructions were in English.[2]
A picture of Fry was seen on a banner for Futurama at Comicalooza.[3]
A picture of the Planet Express ship with Philip J. Fry and Turanga Leela was one of the backgrounds that Jesse used on the Pedalon exercise bike.[4]

A clip of Fry with Leela and Bender and the Simpson family was seen.[6]
Behind the Laugher[edit]
Many, including Fry's voice actor Billy West, believed the character was named for the late Phil Hartman, but co-creator of Futurama Matt Groening's father's full name was Homer Philip Groening and used his father's first name when he made up Homer Simpson and the middle name for Fry.[7]
