Hazel is a Springfield resident that is sometimes seen at the Retirement Castle. She appears to be deaf.

History

She was among the women who pushed Mayor Quimby to create a prohibition law in Springfield. After finding out that the law already existed, the women then pushed Quimby to find a more competent police chief to enforce it, which caused Chief Wiggum to briefly lose his job to Rex Banner.[2]

She appears in the Broadway musical Kickin' It: A Musical Journey through the Betty Ford Center as part of the ensemble.[3]

Homer got to know her after spending a large amount of time at the retirement home.[4]
