Rafael (also commonly known as the Sarcastic Clerk, Wiseguy, Middle-Aged Man or Poison Man[1]), is a man with a sarcastic outlook on life. He is always seen having different jobs. Sideshow Bob identifies his first name as Raphael[2] He used to have a bird as a pet, Raymond Bird, which Bart and Lisa took care of until it died.[3]

He has held numerous jobs in Springfield including: garage owner,[4] mail man, taxi driver,[5] gun salesman,[6] Noiseland Video Arcade proprietor and various shop clerks and handymen.
