The librarian works at the Springfield Public Library and in the Springfield Elementary School library.

She almost got run over when the tank commandeered by Bart burst through the Springfield bookmobile.[5]
She gave useless books as food to Cletus's pigs at the library.[6]
When the Simpsons went to visit the library, she closed it up because, due to decreased interest, the library was kept open for shorter hours. She told the family that this was the time that silverfish were about in the library.[4]
She had other jobs in Springfield, including being a docent at the Springfield Metropolitan Museum[7] and a clerk at the license office inside Springfield County Court House.[8] She was ahead of Homer in the line to pick up prescriptions at Oedipus Rx.[9] .
