Old Scratch is a devil.

History

When Bart got hit by Mr. Burns' car, he started to go up to Heaven. After spitting over the edge, despite being told not to, he ended up in Hell. The devil then introduced himself to Bart and Bart claimed that he was innocent. The devil then pulled out Bart's file and found out that Bart wasn't due to arrive in Hell for nearly a century. Bart then asked if there was anything he could do to avoid coming back to Hell, and the devil told Bart that he wouldn't like it. Bart then went back to Earth.[1]

When Homer stole cable for the family, Lisa imagined the whole family going to Hell, where the devil told Lisa to join the family watching cable. The devil then said that it wouldn't cost her anything, except her soul.[2]

An issue of The Springfield Shopper had Mr. Burns credit his long life to Satan, with a picture of Burns and the devil on the cover.[3]
