Scarecrow is a character in The Wizard of Oz.

History[edit]

The Scarecrow's head was seen in a picture being held by a winged monkey in Joan Bushwell's Serious Research book.[1]

Bart practiced for the role of the Scarecrow in The Wizard of Oz for a school play.[2]

When Ned told Homer that he always had a heart, Homer responded with, "Just like the Cowardly Lion." Carl then corrected him, saying that the Lion always had a heart; what he lacked was courage. Homer then asked if the Scarecrow lacked straw, but Ned told him that the Scarecrow was nothing but straw. Homer then said he was looking at everything with new eyes, just like the Tin Man. Ned started to correct Homer once more but instead told Homer to give him another hug.[3]
