Joel is a flight attendant for Convenience Airways.

History

Joel served as a flight attendant for the Springfield to Pile Ridge, Louisiana flight. During the flight, Joel made jokes, which irritated Bart because he found them unfunny. After Bart ran out of power on his Funtendo Glitch, tablet, and phone, he started playing with the call button. Joel reminded everyone that the call button was for real emergencies only. Bart told Joel he had a real emergency and said Joel's jokes sucked, which caused the passengers to laugh. Bart then continued making jokes at Joel's expense over the microphone, which he took from Joel. While Joel was trying to get the microphone back, Bart locked himself in the toilet and started making fart noises. Joel then activated a trap door below Bart, sending him to the jail cell underneath.

After nearly all the passengers were transported to the cell, Joel started spraying the disruptive passengers with a hose. When Bart complained again about Joel's jokes, Joel sprayed him.

Joel was inspired by a short story written by producer Joel H. Cohen, who he was also named after.
