The Historians of America's Great Inventors and Enlightened Men, or H.O.A.G.I.E. Men, are a group of people who believed that Benjamin Franklin had hidden treasure.

History[edit]

When Homer, Marge, and Santa's Little Helper were in Philadelphia, Professor Cage and the H.O.A.G.I.E. Men went to the Hotel Philadelphia to find Santa's Little Helper, believing that he was descended from Benjamin Franklin's greyhound. When they arrived at the hotel room, they found that Homer was alone. Homer, wanting to be a good husband and not ruin Santa's Little Helper's dog competition, told them that Marge and the dog had gone on a sightseeing tour of Philadelphia. Homer and the H.O.A.G.I.E. Men went through Homer's itinerary while Professor Cage explained that Benjamin Franklin had stolen a large amount of gold and treasure from the Palace of Versailles while he was negotiating the Treaty of Paris in 1783. Franklin had his greyhounds bred to have a special urinary enzyme that could reveal secret messages he wrote about the location of his gold. Santa's Little Helper, being a descendant of Franklin's greyhounds, also had the enzyme. However, when they tried to get Santa's Little Helper, Adrienne Gesstar had the security guard at the Colonial firefighting exhibit escort the H.O.A.G.I.E. Men out, claiming that they were stalking her.
