Belle is an entrepreneur and the proprietress of a burlesque house in Springfield called "La Maison Derrière".

History

She is 52 years old, and her family has been in Springfield for six generations. Bart found himself working there as punishment for damaging Belle's property, and it soon transpired that the place was a frequent haunt of many of Springfield's men. Homer rescued it when an angry mob led by Marge, the Flanders and Reverend Lovejoy threatened to raze it to the ground.[1]

She attended Lisa's town meeting about Lake Springfield. During Trappuccino, She was part of the mob that was after Homer for poisoning the lake.[2]

Behind the Laughter

Belle's dress and hair bear several similarities to Lady Tremaine in the Disney film "Cinderella". She is likely based on real-life madam Belle Breezing.
