Star Trek is a 1966-1969 U.S. sciencefiction TV series, which gained a cult following for its clever scripts, adventurous plots and social commentary. From the late 1970s on various film adaptations were made, starring the regular cast members, including William Shatner (Captain Kirk) and Leonard Nimoy (Spock). Since 1987, several spin-off series have come about (namely Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Voyager and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine) and films.
