[hide]History[edit]
Homer phoned a marriage helpline but, when realizing the advisor on the other end was Ned Flanders, was knocked unconscious in the phone booth. His guardian angel appeared to him in the form of Sir Isaac Newton. Homer did not know who Newton was, so his guardian angel instead became Klink. Klink showed Homer what his life would have been like had he married Mindy Simmons and not Marge, revealing it would be great for each party. Klink told Homer he was not really Colonel Klink, but just assumed his form, so he could not confirm if the 'real' Klink received any of Homer's letters, nor did he care when Homer told him that "Hogan had tunnels all over [his] camp." However, when Homer pleaded that Klink had "forsaken" him, Klink reappeared and seemed genuinely upset when Homer told him "Kinch had a radio in the coffee pot."[1]
In the song "Adults/Kids", Bart told the adults that they ran their lives like they were Colonel Klink.[2]
When Maximillian von Wonthelm was a child, he and his father, Wilhelm von Wonthelm, watched Hogan's Heroes together. Wilhelm said that they were going to see what adventures "brave Colonel Klink" would have.[3]
