When the Springfield Community Center puts on a production of Oh, Streetcar!, the musical version of A Streetcar Named Desire directed by the Llewellyn Sinclair, Marge unexpectedly lands the leading role of Blanche DuBois.[1]

Ned Flanders had already played the part of Blanche DuBois because he went to an all-boys school.[1]

Milhouse recalls when he and his class watched the 1951 movie A Streetcar Named Desire starring Vivien Leigh as Blanche DuBois and Marlon Brando as Stanley Kowalski when Marlon Brando becomes his role model.[2] That movie won Vivien Leigh the Academy Award for Best Actress.
