Jacques is a bowling instructor who pursued an affair with Marge Simpson.
History
In season 1 Jacques offers to teach Marge Simpson to bowl after she recieves a bowling ball for her birthday. He is captivated by Marge and slowly tries to woo her. While at brunch, which Jacques explains as "not quite breakfast, not quite lunch, but you get a slice of cantalope at the end" Jacques finds the courage to ask Marge back to his apartment in Fiesta Terraces. He ends up alone when Marge chose to stick with her true love Homer. In season 6 he is also seen on the episode 'and maggie makes 3' where hes at the bowlarama bowling in the backround while homer is working there. In the same season he's in the episode 'another simpsons clip show' (the one about love) and marge tells the family for the first time about jacques.
In season 7 he is later as a part of a bowling team called the Home Wreckers, consisting of Princess Kashmir, Mindy Simmons, and Lurleen Lumpkin.[2]
Personality
Jacques is somewhat of a Casanova and mainly seems to try to seduce his clients instead of actually teaching them anything. He speaks with a french accent, yet when he yells he mysteriously seems to lose the accent. He most likely only uses this to attract women.
Behind the Laughter
- Jacques was voiced by Albert Brooks in the episode "Life on the Fast Lane"; his second appearance on the show.
- Beginning with season 2, Jacques was in the opening sequence.
- "Life on the Fast Lane" initially saw Brooks voice Björn, a Swedish tennis instructor, but Brooks thought a Frenchman would be funnier so it was changed.[3][4]
