Petey is a parrot who was owned by Marge when she was a child.

History

When Marge was a child, she wanted a pet cat. However, her father got her Petey because their neighbor was giving him away, and Petey could meow. Whilst Petey liked Marge, and there were a few good pictures of them together, Petey showed affection by attacking Marge and regurgitating on her. He also scared off her friends because he was very possessive. Eventually, Petey was given to Krista, who collected Petey in an Art's Auto Service truck.

When Bart and Lisa were looking through Marge's memories box, they found the pictures of Marge and Petey and decided to try and reunite Petey with Marge. They went to North Townsburg where they tracked down Krista, but found out that Petey had escaped after Krista left his cage open. Bart and Lisa found Petey near the bus stop in a tree with a flock of parrots, after he imitated The Price Is Right "you lose" horn. They then coaxed him down using a recording of Marge and trapped him in the Junior Operative Spy Kit case.

When Bart and Lisa got Petey home to Marge, she initially seemed happy to see Petey, but then got scared when Petey started to attack her. After attempting to get him away from her, Marge revealed to Bart and Lisa what a nightmare Petey had been to her. They then captured Petey and took him back to his flock in North Townsburg.
