Athena (often given the epithet Pallas) was the goddess of wisdom in Greek mythology.

History[edit]

Athena was the judge in the trial of Hades and Persephone. Athena attempted to resolve the dispute. Persephone claimed that Hades kidnapped her, but Hades announced that he was only dating her. After listening to the two, she concluded that there was a kidnapping, but because of the god-laws, Hades was acquitted. According to the law, Athena decided Persephone must pay for the food she ate during the date and forced her to stay six months each year with Hades.[1]
