Officer Cornelius is an ape and a police officer in Chief Wiggum's dream of being a cop in the future.

History

Wiggum's partner was his transforming rifle, "Officer Shooty", but he and Cornelius had been partners in the past. When Shooty had the weekend off, Wiggum and Clancy were once again partnered. The two had a busy weekend: they made several arrests; had a confrontation with Murphy, another former partner of Wiggum; resolved an argument between neighbors; and responded to a domestic dispute. Their renewed partnership ended on a sour note, however, as Wiggum disintegrated Cornelius for joining the rebel apes and trying to overthrow humanity.

Behind the Laughter

Officer Cornelius is a reference to Doctor Cornelius from Planet of the Apes.
