Fernando is a commercial airline pilot captaining a flight from Springfield International Airport to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

History[edit]

As the plane approaches Rio de Janeiro he always says "The local temperature in Rio de Janiero is hot, hot, hot with a 100% chance of passion". The co-pilot of the plane is tired of the joke but recalls that joke was why he fell in love with him.[1]

He later crashed a plane into the Simpson's house.[2]

He was piloting the Air Brasilia plane the second time the Simpsons went to Brazil and got offended that Marge was learning Portuguese on the way.[3]
