Blanche DuBois is the main character in Tennessee Williams' A Streetcar Named Desire.

History

When the Springfield Community Center puts on a production of Oh, Streetcar!, the musical version of A Streetcar Named Desire directed by the Llewellyn Sinclair, Marge unexpectedly lands the leading role of Blanche DuBois.

Ned Flanders had already played the part of Blanche DuBois because he went to an all-boys school.

Milhouse recalls when he and his class watched the 1951 movie A Streetcar Named Desire starring Vivien Leigh as Blanche DuBois and Marlon Brando as Stanley Kowalski when Marlon Brando becomes his role model. That movie won Vivien Leigh the Academy Award for Best Actress.
