The telephone operator is an unnamed telephone operator.

History

When Bart, Lisa and Maggie were taken to the Flanders against Marge and Homer's will, Homer tried to phone the kids. After he dialed, an automated voice can be heard saying that the number he had just dialed could not longer be reached from that phone.

Homer managed to gain weight and thus be able to work from his house. After getting bored of working, he left a drinking bird hitting the "Y" button of his computer while he went out to see a movie. When he returned, he found his replacement knocked aside and a disaster was about to happen at the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant. When Homer tried to dial the power plant number to warn them, a voice answered him saying that his fingers were too fat, and he was giving instructions to mash the keypad with his palm in order to obtain a special dialing wand.

In one occasion, a drunk Barney left Homer's car parked at the World Trade Center in New York City. Homer and his family went to this city to retrieve the car. When Homer finally found the car, it was covered with tickets and had a boot on the wheel. Homer then phoned the DMV from a phone booth to plead for his car and a voice can be heard rejecting his petition and telling him to wait for parking officer Steven Grabowski.
