Saddam Hussein was the fifth President of Iraq, serving in this capacity from 16 July 1979 until 9 April 2003. A leading member of the revolutionary Ba'ath Party, which espoused a mix of Arab nationalism and Arab socialism, Saddam played a key role in the 1968 coup that brought the party to long-term power.

History

During the Gulf War has the soldier Erin a mission to assassinate Saddam Hussein and after she and Krusty had spent the night together Erin was aiming a rocket launcher at Saddam when Krusty caught up to her and protested that she couldn't kill Saddam because he was half of Krusty's act. Just as Erin was about to fire, Krusty tackled her, making her miss and ruining her mission.

Homer have also a edition of Newsweek with the headline "Why America Loves Saddam Hussein".
