Lewis is a character on The Simpsons. He is Bart's only African American friend, and one of only a handful of black students at Springfield Elementary School. His best friend is Richard and can be seen playing the bassoon in the opening sequence of the show.
History

Lewis is seen as one of Bart's best friends yet not nearly as close a friend to Bart as Milhouse, or even Nelson. He is most commonly seen playing in the schoolyard with his best friend Richard.
