Maxine Lombard is the speaker of Springfield's state assembly and a member of the Democratic Party.

History

After Lisa watched Gas World and was concerned about illegal fracking going on, she sent a letter to Maxine Lombard. When Lombard arrived in Springfield, she investigated the fracking at the Simpson family's residence. She eventually shuts down Mr. Burns' fracking operation, but they soon fall in love and sleep with each other in Lombard's office. Burns summarizes his night with Lombard as the best he ever had and states the two should be enemies by day and lovers by night. Later on, Homer obtains every residents' gas rights in Evergreen Terrace. However, when it is discovered that Marge did not sign the contract and thus meaning the plan could not go further, Lombard tells Burns that all he lost was money and that he got her. Burns is infuriated by this and terminates their "ill-conceived affair." Lombard then gets revenge on Burns, by knocking down his manor and turning it into a "recycling center, slash Native American history museum, slash condor sanctuary".

Eventually, Homer later foils the fracking plan that Burns decided to go along with. After this, Burns tells Lombard he was a fool to break up with her. Lombard also apologized for turning his house into a "liberal paradise". They reunite and are later seen in bed with each talking whilst on their tablets.[1]

Maxine Lombard was seen in the audience for Tabitha Shingle's live recording of her podcast Interminable.[2]
