Description[edit]
Little is known about the Mayor, other than his job. He has a strong interest in bringing a baseball team to Albuquerque. He also has a well-developed ego, even more so than would ordinarily be expected from a political leader.
History[edit]
Howard K. Duff VIII, owner of the Isotopes, planned to sell the team to Albuquerque, and for a long time kept his intentions secret. When word of his plans came out, reaction (and opposition) from the residents of Springfield was swift and intense. Duff was forced to call off the sale, and the Mayor of Albuquerque decided to "steal some other baseball team". He told his aide to find out what Dallas wanted for the Cowboys. When the aide told him that the Cowboys were a football team, the Mayor retorted, "They'll play what I tell 'em to play, for I am the Mayor of Albuquerque!"[1]
