Spud is a carny and the son of Cooder.
When the Simpsons go to a carnival Homer and Bart get employed and end ruining Cooder and Spud's life. The carnies then up staying at the Simpsons and cause a lot of trouble. After spending a day with the carnies tough they take the Simpsons home and the Simpsons have to live in Bart's tree house. The Simpsons then end up having to get the house back by beating them in a ring toss game and get it back by cheating. The Simpsons then live in their own house again and Spud and Cooder go back to being carnies.
