Clyde is a war veteran and the owner of Tire Fire Souvenirs.

History[edit]

When Marge became mayor of Springfield, her main campaign promise was to destroy the Springfield Tire Yard. When the bulldozers attempted to destroy it, Clyde ran in front and chained himself to the gate. He told everyone he couldn't be put out of business, running his souvenir stall. He told Marge that selling his souvenirs helped put his son through medical school.

Later, Marge went back to Clyde to try and buy his stand. She called Clyde a "ding dong", which offended him because he was a survivor of the Battle of Ding-Dong in Vietnam. Marge then said "thank you" to him, which also offended him as "Thank Yu" was his friend who stepped on a land mine in the Battle of One Pun Too Many.[1]

Clyde attended the meeting at Springfield Elementary School to discuss whether the school should ban the teaching of the Great Springfield Gazebo disaster.[2]

Clyde was seen at the riots outside Springfield Elementary School on the science fair, bake sale, and picture day.[3]
