Maher-shalal-hash-baz, commonly known as Baz, is Ned Flanders' dog.

History[edit]

Lisa first met Baz when she was out in the front garden of the house. Flanders showed Lisa the tricks that Baz could do. Later, Homer met Baz, who instantly took a liking to him. This was mutual and Homer started taking time to play with Baz. Santa's Little Helper began to get jealous of this relationship.

After Flanders saw how much fun Baz had with Homer, he offered to give Baz to him. Homer wouldn't take her as Baz saw Homer as another dog. But Flanders would take care of her forever.

Later, Baz and Santa's Little Helper had a standoff with each other before curling up next to each other to sleep.[1]

Ned walked Baz around Springfield after it was made law that Springfield would become dog friendly. Baz later joined the other savage dogs but was returned to Ned after Marge became the alpha in their eyes.[2]

Baz licked Ned's face when he was dreaming of Maude as a ghost.[3]
