Clara is an English orphan and a character in the book The Princess in the Garden.

History

Marge read the book to Lisa. Clara was an English girl who was brought up in South America, being raised by native servants. Clara told one of her servants to clap whilst she danced, threatening to lash him if he didn't mind the rhythm. Later in the book, her father was killed by a local banana picker and Clara baptized savages without their consent.

After this, Clara was an orphan and was sent to live with her lonely uncle. She then met Conor, who was feeble-witted and drunk. When Marge got to this part of the book, she stopped reading it and decided to rewrite the book to make it less offensive.

In Marge's rewritten version of the book, Clara was a cisgendered girl who lived in South America. She rescued wild horses and fought for net neutrality. Lisa then pointed out that Clara seemed pretty perfect, which meant she didn't have an emotional journey to go on, making the book pointless.
