Big Monty was a computer designed with Mr. Burns' personality that could be programmed to respond as he would for centuries into the future.

History

After suffering a near-death experience, Mr. Burns was worried about his legacy as he was the last of his bloodline, excluding Larry Burns. Waylon Smithers had a computer called "Big Monty" created for the purpose of carrying on Burns' legacy after his death, programming it to respond like Burns would. Big Monty was hidden behind a wooden facade that looked like a complex computer server. The same day Smithers showed Burns Big Monty, Homer brought Santa's Little Helper to the Power Plant, thinking it was "Bring Your Dog to Work Day." Santa's Little Helper got loose and Homer went to the basement to look for him, where he found Big Monty. Homer pressed random buttons, which turned Big Monty on.

Soon after Big Monty was activated, Lisa received a message from someone named "Monty." Lisa and Monty became fast friends, with Lisa telling Monty about all her problems in life. When Lisa complained to Monty about Bart, Big Monty had Bart sent to a different school, Swellington Academy. When Lisa complained to Monty about Springfield Elementary School, Monty authorized a transfer of ten million euros to the school. When Lisa complained about the Internet issues in the house, Monty sent Homer a check for one million dollars. Whenever Lisa complained about anything else to Monty, Big Monty put a solution in place. Despite this, Lisa didn't connect the dots between these things happening and Monty.

Eventually, Monty told Lisa that he wanted to meet her in person, so she went to the Power Plant. Meanwhile, Mr. Burns realized that Big Monty had been draining his accounts, so he and Smithers went to the basement to disable Big Monty. Lisa tried to talk Burns out of destroying her friend, but Smithers hit the computer with an axe, destroying Big Monty. As Big Monty powered down, he sang "Daisy Bell".
