His daughter Connie who is against the practice, and she gets worried that no one is eating a renewable source of food and finds some apples for the pioneers to eat, but they reject them (Homer spits them out in disgust when he realizes they are apples and not Buffalo testicles) and she leaves the train and her family. The rest of the family change their surname to "Bufflekill" and they succeed in killing all the buffalo, leaving them with two the others realize they can breed, just as Homer shoots and kills them. As winter rolls by, the travelers start to starve and start to resort to [[wikipedia:cannibalism|cannibalism]], picking Homer as their victim for being the fattest. The singing railroad hobo told a story about Connie Appleseed. Homer Bufflekill is the father of Connie Appleseed. Homer started killing buffalo to eat them, to Connie's disgust. When Connie tried to get him to stop, offering apples instead, Homer thought they were disgusting. He then refused to stop killing buffalo and took the wagon train, leaving Connie behind. As they went on, they continued to kill and eat buffalo, with Homer sleeping inside a buffalo skin.
