Flanders as the Devil

The Devil, also known as Satan, is in charge of Hell. Ned Flanders is sometimes the Devil . However, the real Devil lives in Hell. He was once the Lord's most powerful angel but he was cast out from Heaven with a whole army of angels after he transpired to become a god. He often appears in visions or dreams. Whenever Montgomery Burns has a near death experience, Satan tries to get Burns there, but continually fails.

The Devil is also responsible for all evil in the world, as he influenced humans to commit evil acts from the beginning - most notably in Eden and is still influential today in the government and the media. He is the one behind all crime in Springfield, (and the Earth as a whole) being the one who drove men such as Russ Cargill, Fat Tony, Sideshow Bob, and Mr Burns to committing their evil acts. He is currently imprisoned in Hell, but an ancient prophecy says that he will be released from his prison to destroy the Earth with his army of demons at the End of Time.

His influence seems to be particularly strong in Springfield, as many villains seem to flock its streets, and he seems to have enforced his will on the residents themselves, as many are greedy, selfish, extremely capitalist and/or Republican. However, some townspeople seem to outright oppose him - some including Reverend Lovejoy, Ned Flanders, and Lisa Simpson. Their efforts to oppose the Devil come to nothing, however, as in the Apocalypse the Devil sends all his armies onto the Earth and reduces Springfield to Hell. He eventually claims the Simpson family and imprisons them all in Hell.

He once tried to conquer Springfield by appointing Bart as the Antichrist but this plan also failed.
