Dr. J. Loren Pryor is the school psychologist at Springfield Elementary School.

History

Dr. Pryor, is one of the few employees at Springfield Elementary School that seems to actually be qualified in his field. Although in "Bart the Genius", it was his decision to send Bart to the school for above-average children. But it was only because he was tricked by Bart. He is also the one Bart goes to when he wants to go back to his regular school. In "Bart Gets An F", he tells Bart that he may have to repeat the 4th Grade. He then appears again, discussing Bart's problems at school and Lisa's special gift in a flashback sequence of "Lisa's Sax". Pryor is also the one in "See Homer Run", who tells Lisa that she is going through a developmental condition, and that is ther reason she has been acting up. However, in Yokel Chords, when Skinner mentions the psychologist, a woman runs out of the building, implying that the character has been retired.
