Character Information

Doc Brown (also known as Emmett L. Brown) is a fictional scientist and a lead character in the Back to the Future trilogy.
History
Hoping to keep the Institute of Future Technology open, Doc Brown was about to sign a contract provided by his banker, Mr. Friedman. Before he could sign it, however, Mr. Friedman was run over by a DeLorean from 2007 that was driven by Professor Frink. With his banker dead, Doc lamented that he had no choice but to sell the Institute to Krusty the Clown.[1]
The Institute of Future technology was replaced by the Krustyland amusement park. Krusty offered Doc Brown a job tearing up tickets, providing that the latter would cut his hair. Doc agreed to do so as it took effort to manage his look.[1]
Doc Brown was flying in the DeLorean when Leeloo from The Fifth Element fell seemingly out of nowhere, landed on Chief Wiggum's air car, and then jumped onto the DeLorean. Doc yelled "Great Scott!" as she bounced off of the DeLorean's roof.[2]
Doc appeared along with Marty McFly in the background of the LA-Z Rider couch gag, in the scene where Ned was holding a gun on Selma.[3]
Behind the Laughter
Doc Brown was voiced in the pre-show queue video of The Simpsons Ride by Christopher Lloyd. Lloyd played the character in all three of the Back to the Future films, and reprised the role in Telltales Back to the Future: The Game.
He also played Doc Brown in the live action portion of Back to the Future: The Animated Series, while the animated portion had the character voiced by long time Simpsons actor, Dan Castellaneta.
