Mary Kay is a woman who works at The Singing Sirloin.
History
Mary Kay's job at The Singing Sirloin seems to be similar to a Maitre d', as her workstation is located near the front door. When the Simpson family ate at the restaurant to celebrate Bart's getting an A on an astronomy quiz, Homer's credit card was rejected. The Simpsons then decided to dine and dash. As they were making a run for the front door, two waitpersons sang out, "They're getting away! Stop them, Mary Kay!" Mary Kay was standing near the front door and pulled a lever (disguised as the "Please wait to be seated" sign) which activated a portcullis-like barrier, trapping the Simpsons inside the restaurant.
Mary Kay was among the group of employees giving the Simpsons a dirty look as Homer started blustering. She also watched the family's Mariachi performance, which they were forced to give in order to pay for their dinner.
Behind the Laughter
From her pink makeup and all-pink outfit, Mary Kay seems to be a reference to the Mary Kay company, which produces and sells cosmetics and skin care products.
