Lieutenant Smash, known as L.T. Smash, is a Navy recruiter and the founder of Party Posse.

Bart accepts and becomes a member of the group, along with Nelson Muntz, Milhouse Van Houten and Ralph Wiggum. After the band's rise to stardom, Lisa finds out that he is putting subliminal messages in the songs and reveals that he is actually Lieutenant Smash and is recruiting for the Navy. When Party Posse perform on an aircraft carrier, Smash learns from his superior that MAD Magazine's next issue will reveal Party Posse's secrets. Smash's superior shuts down the voice enhancer which makes Smash threaten to send the carrier out to sea. He carries out the threat and shoots missiles at MAD Magazine's headquarters, despite 'N Sync's attempts to stop them. He is later arrested.
