Band Information
|
Spinal Tap are a band consisting of David St. Hubbins, Nigel Tufnel, Derek Smalls, an unnamed keyboardist and an unnamed drummer.
History
Bart and Milhouse attended a Spinal Tap concert, which quickly became a comedy of errors and degenerated into a riot started by Snake. Their show still impressed Bart enough for him to want to become a rock guitarist. Homer and Marge bought Bart his own electric guitar, which he struggled to learn how to play.
The next morning on the school bus, Bart told Otto he thought his guitar is broken, and Otto—with the bus still stopped in traffic—wowed his passengers with an impromptu concert, thoughtlessly clogging up the road. Otto lost track of time and was forced to drive recklessly to school. Along the way, he ran Spinal Tap’s bus off the road, and it crashed and burst into flames (possibly killing them).
Behind the Laughter
- In "The Otto Show", according to the writers, the crash scene was not in the original script, and was added because they felt the band's final scene was not interesting enough.[1]
- The band is voiced by Michael McKean, Christopher Guest and Harry Shearer.
Appearances
- Episode – "The Otto Show"
