Dennis Kucinich is a politician who was a proposed candidate in Springfield's 2008 Presidential primary election.

History

Fed up with the politicians and media in town due to Springfield's having the first Presidential primary, the customers of Moe's Tavern decided to spite them by starting a write-in campaign for a completely ridiculous candidate. Apu suggested Dennis Kucinich, which drew a cry of protest from Kucinich since he was in the crowd of customers. Apu quickly apologized to him, and the customers settled on Ralph Wiggum as their write-in candidate.

Behind the Laughter

  • Kucinich is depicted as being extremely short. In real life, he is 5'7" (1.70m) tall,[1] which is slightly below average and has made him the subject of some lampooning in popular culture.
