History
When Bart pulled a prank by making all the bank's cutomers beleive that the bank had run out of money, he tried unsuccessfully to calm everyone down.
Behind the Laughter
The scene is parody of the bank run scene with Jimmy Stewart's George Bailey character from It's a Wonderful Life.
