History[edit]
After the Simpson family had a picnic with Cookie, Marge asked what they should do with the rubbish. Cookie told Marge to not worry about it because Cleanie would handle it. Cleanie then came out of the wagon and scooped up everything into a bag before he held it to himself and said "my precious."
Behind the Laughter[edit]
Cleanie's mannerisms parody that of Gollum from The Lord of the Rings, in addition to being voiced by Gollum's actor Andy Serkis.
