Willy Gilligan is a character played by Bob Denver on the TV show Gilligan's Island.
History[edit]
After being replaced The Be Sharps, Chief Wiggum was watching The Tonight Show when Johnny Carson, characterized as Carnac the Magnificent, named three Castaways: Gilligan, the Skipper, and Chief Wiggum. Angered, he shot at the television.[1]
When Homer became a Naval Reserve, he took Marge to see Bob Denver on a Naval Reserve tour. He told the audience that when people come up to him and say "Hey, Little Buddy", then hit him over the head with a hat, that it's not funny as it hurts. When the audience started laughing, Denver told them to stop laughing. Homer then said that he was going to get Gilligan's autograph, then "whomp" him with his hat.[2]
