The Flying Giuseppe is a human cannonball who works with a traveling circus.

History

While fleeing the police, after Dexter Colt framed her, Lisa and Homer came across a traveling circus which contained the animals that had been stolen from a trashed medical research center, the crime which Lisa had been framed for. After finding the animals, Homer and Lisa were about to tell the police when Colt showed up. Not wanting to get caught, Colt threatened that if the two made any sudden moves they'd get "a bellyful of The Flying Giuseppe." Giuseppe then poked his head out of the cannon and asked "How ya doin'?" He then gave the thumbs up to Colt, who proceeded to fire the cannon at Homer and Lisa. Homer pushed Lisa into a hay pile and took the cannonballer in the gut, which knocked him down. As Giuseppe got up he proclaimed hitting Homer might've fixed his back, but after stretching and cracking it, he quickly restates that it's "much worse."

Behind the Laughter

  • In the guide book, The Simpsons: One Step Beyond Forever, under Dexter Colt's factfile it states that The Flying Giuseppe is a "known associate".
  • Homer gets hit by Giuseppe, and gets up unhurt, proving that he still has the skills exhibited in "Homerpalooza".
