Phil is a television reporter. He was retired when Scott Christian and Kent Brockman came along.

History

When Bart stopped a robber at Mr. Chupo's Candy Store, Phil reported the story.[1]

Behind the Laughter

His character was retired when Scott Christian and Kent Brockman were introduced. He does, however, make a cameo in the episode "Two Cars in Every Garage and Three Eyes on Every Fish". In his appearance in "The Call of the Simpsons" he sounds a lot like Kent Brockman.
