James Lipton is the host of Inside the Actor's Studio, a talk show where he interviews actors and others involved with movies and television shows.

History

Lipton once had Rainier Wolfcastle as a guest on his show, but the interview went badly when Wolfcastle went into character as McBain, mistook Lipton for McBain's old nemesis Mendoza and shot Lipton. Ever the gracious host, however, Lipton said, "It was a pleasure to eat your lead, good sir!" as he collapsed.[1]

Lipton survived the shooting and later had the cast of Thicker than Waters on his show in a reunion interview. Lipton tried (but failed) to get Rebecca, who played Lizzie Waters, to talk about her hairstyle "The Lizzie". Rebecca got mad and refused to say anything, but Digby Sheridan, who played Patrick Waters, spontaneously admitted to having slept with "everyone in the cast - including the dog."[2]

A picture of James Lipton was on the wall of The Penny Loafer.[3]
